Barwell Motorsport competes at the front of both national and international GT racing, with a dual programme that pits the team against the best in the business across Europe.
The GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS is the pinnacle of global GT3 racing, bringing together the world’s best teams, drivers and manufacturers to compete across one monster grid.
Operating purely for GT3-specification cars and with a calendar taking in Europe’s finest racing venues, the GT World Challenge regularly attracts top-tier teams, a plethora of factory drivers, and huge crowds wherever it goes.
Offering two championships within one, the GT World Challenge season is separated into the five-round Endurance Cup – offering race lengths of three, six or 24 hours – and the five-round Sprint Cup, where teams do battle across twin hour-long sprints each event.
Unquestionably the seasonal showpiece is the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa, the world’s biggest GT event, where a record-breaking 76 GT3 cars from 10 different brands went head-to-head this year.
Victories in GT World Challenge are hard-earned, and Barwell boasts a string of successes, including an Endurance Cup Silver title in 2020 and a Pro-Am Teams’ and Drivers’ championship double in 2021. The team also finished runner-up in the Sprint Cup’s Bronze standings in 2024.
From my first visit to the team headquarters to standing on the podium at the 2016 Spa 24H, I've been hugely impressed with Barwell Motorsport. The team has a nice family atmosphere but with a strong drive and desire to win. The engineering was excellent, with good direction and well organised. From what I've seen and experienced, the team are regularly punching above their weight and should rightly be considered one of the best GT teams in Europe.
