Barwell Motorsport competes at the front of both national and international GT racing, with a dual programme that pits the team against the best in the business across Europe.

British GT Championship

For the last 33 years, the British GT Championship has represented the highest level of GT racing in the United Kingdom. Standing as one of the oldest championships in the portfolio of promoter, SRO Motorsports Group, British GT runs classes for both GT3 and GT4 machinery, with each providing top-quality competition.

First organised by the British Racing Drivers’ Club in 1993, the series was renamed as British GT from 1995 and went on to feature iconic cars such as the McLaren F1, Porsche 911 GT1, Lister Storm GTL and Jaguar XJ220C.

Now operating strictly for GT3 and GT4 homologated machinery, Barwell Motorsport has enjoyed huge success within the championship’s current format. Having made its British GT debut back in 2007 running Aston Martins, Barwell has since lifted the GT3 Teams’ title a record seven times – its first coming with BMW machinery in 2014 – and with it claimed four GT3 Drivers’ titles.

Since 2016, Barwell has exclusively competed with Lamborghini Squadra Corse and has been a race winner in every season since, contributing 28 of the Bolognese brand’s 31 victories in the championship to date.
